There are two channels of admission to Approved New Sainik Schools (NSS)
- 40% Route: Minimum 40% of the seats under the Sainik School stream in Approved NSSs will be filled based on the rank secured in the All India Merit List of AISSEE 2024. Domicile and category are not considered for this Merit List. Candidates can choose any Approved NSS in India during the counseling process.
- 60% Route: Up to 60% of the seats in Approved NSSs will be filled by students who are currently studying in any of the approved NSSs. The admission will be based on the rank secured in the School-wise Merit List. Domicile and category are not considered for this Merit List.
