Exploring the Legacy and Excellence of Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS)
Rashtriya Military Schools (RMS) stand as distinguished institutions within India's educational landscape, blending academic rigor with a holistic approach to personal development. Established under the aegis of the Directorate General of Military Training at the IHQ of MOD (Army), these schools are categorized as 'A' establishments and overseen by the Central Governing Council, chaired by the Defence Secretary of the Ministry of Defence.
Historical Background and Evolution
The illustrious journey of RMS began with the inauguration of Chail Military School in 1922, marking the pioneering effort in grooming young minds for military service. Subsequently, Ajmer, Belgaum, Bengaluru, and Dholpur Military Schools followed, each contributing uniquely to the ethos of disciplined education and character building.
Academic and Co-curricular Focus
RMS institutions, all-boys boarding schools affiliated with the CBSE, cater to students from Class VI to XII. The admission process, primarily through a rigorous entrance examination followed by interviews and medical tests, ensures the selection of meritorious candidates committed to a career in defense services. The curriculum aligns with CBSE standards, supplemented by a robust program of extracurricular activities aimed at nurturing leadership qualities and physical fitness.
