The Army Cadet College (ACC) entry scheme is specifically designed for serving personnel in the armed forces who aspire to become commissioned officers. It offers a unique opportunity for soldiers, sailors, and airmen to advance their careers within the armed forces through education and leadership training.


Vacancies Per Course

The ACC scheme offers 75 vacancies per course, conducted twice a year.


Notification and Application

The notification for the ACC scheme is issued by the MP Directorate and AG's Branch through individual units, typically in March and August.


Eligibility Criteria

Age

  • Candidates must be between 20 and 27 years old.
  • A minimum of two years of service in the armed forces is required to apply.

Qualification

  • Candidates must have completed Class 12th (10+2 pattern) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Successful completion of the ACC written test is mandatory.

Marital Status

Both married and unmarried candidates are eligible to apply.


Selection Process

  1. ACC Written Test: Candidates must qualify for the ACC written examination, which assesses their academic aptitude, military knowledge, and reasoning skills.
  2. Services Selection Board (SSB): Shortlisted candidates are invited for SSB interviews, where their leadership potential, psychological fitness, and overall suitability are evaluated.

SSB Schedule

  • For the January Course: SSB interviews are conducted between September and November.
  • For the July Course: SSB interviews are conducted between March and May.

Training Details

Training Academy

  • Training is conducted at the ACC Wing, located within the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

Duration of Training

  • The total training duration is four years, divided as follows:
    • Three years at the ACC Wing, where candidates undergo a comprehensive academic and military training program.
    • One year at the IMA, focusing on advanced military training and leadership development.
