Last updated: 1 November 2026. Four big defence-school entrance exams fall between November 2026 and January 2027. This page puts every date in one place, so parents in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana know exactly what is next. Dates are taken from the official NVS prospectus and NTA information bulletins. Where a date is not yet official, we say so clearly.

1. JNVST 2027 – 28 November 2026
Admit card: released on 28 October 2026 on the NVS admission portal linked from navodaya.gov.in. Log in with the registration number and the child's date of birth.
Timing: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The child must be seated by 11:00 AM.
Paper: 80 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours — Mental Ability and EVS, Arithmetic and Language. No negative marking.
Result: expected by the end of March 2027.

2. RIMCEE – 6 December 2026
Who: boys and girls born between 2 July 2013 and 1 January 2015 (both dates inclusive), studying in or passed Class 7.
Paper: English (125 marks), Mathematics (200 marks) and General Knowledge (75 marks) — 400 marks, 4 hours 30 minutes in total. At least 50% is needed in each subject.
Admit card: on exams.nta.nic.in/RIMCEE about 5–7 days before the exam; the city slip comes 12–15 days before.
Result: by 20 February 2027. Viva voce (50 marks) tentatively in April 2027.

3. RMS CET 2026 – 13 December 2026
Schools: the five Rashtriya Military Schools — Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belagavi (Belgaum) and Bengaluru.
Age (as on 31 March 2027): Class 6 — 10 to 13 years (born 1 April 2014 to 31 March 2017). Class 9 — 13 to 16 years (born 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2014).
Mode: pen-and-paper test with multiple-choice questions on an OMR sheet, in 63 cities.
Admit card: will be issued on exams.nta.nic.in/rmscet before the exam.

4. AISSEE 2027 – date awaited
The National Testing Agency had not released the AISSEE 2027 Information Bulletin as of 28 October 2026. For comparison, AISSEE 2026 applications opened on 10 October 2025, the deadline was later extended to 9 November 2025, and the exam was held on 18 January 2026. So the 2027 form can open any day and the window is usually only a few weeks long.
Class 6 age (expected): 10 to 12 years as on 31 March 2027.
Class 9 age (expected): 13 to 15 years as on 31 March 2027, and passed Class 8.

What Parents Should Do This Month
JNVST families: download and print the admit card today, check every detail, and finish two full mock papers a week until 28 November.
RIMC and RMS families: keep checking the NTA website for the city slip, and practise full-length papers under exam timing.
Sainik School families: keep the child's birth certificate, Aadhaar, photo, signature, domicile and category certificates scanned and ready, so you can apply on the first day the AISSEE 2027 form opens.
