B. RIMCEE-2026 Important Dates

11. When does the RIMCEE-2026 online application process begin?

The online application process begins on 01 September 2026.

12. What is the last date for submitting the regular application?

The last date is 30 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM.

13. Can the application be submitted after the regular deadline?

Yes. Late submission is allowed from 01 October 2026 to 07 October 2026, subject to the late fee.

14. What is the late fee?

The late fee is ₹500.

15. When is the application correction window?

The correction window is from 09 October 2026 to 11 October 2026.

16. When will RIMCEE-2026 Stage-I be conducted?

The Stage-I Written Examination will be conducted on 06 December 2026.

17. How long is the Stage-I examination?

The total examination duration is 4 hours 30 minutes.

18. When will the Stage-I result be declared?

The schedule states that the Stage-I result is expected to be declared by 20 February 2027.

19. When will the Viva Voce be conducted?

The Stage-II Viva Voce is tentatively scheduled for April 2027. The exact date will be announced later.

C. Eligibility

21. For which admission term is RIMCEE-2026 conducted?

RIMCEE-2026 is conducted for admission to the July 2027 Term.

22. What is the age requirement for July 2027 admission?

The candidate must be at least 12½ years old and not more than 14 years old as on 01 July 2027.

23. What is the eligible Date of Birth range?

The eligible DOB range is 02 July 2013 to 01 January 2015, both dates inclusive.

24. Is Class VII qualification required?

Yes. At the time of admission, candidates should be studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII from a recognized school.

25. Can a student studying in Class VIII apply?

The prescribed educational qualification states that candidates should be studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII for admission to Class VIII.

26. Does Class VII have to be completed in a particular school?

The candidate should be studying in or have passed Class VII from a recognized school.

27. Which date is used for calculating age?

For July Term admission, age is calculated as on 01 July of the year of admission.

28. Can a candidate outside the prescribed DOB range apply?

No. Candidates whose DOB falls outside the prescribed eligible range do not meet the stated age eligibility.

29. Does receiving an Admit Card confirm eligibility?

No. Admission to the examination remains provisional, and eligibility may be verified later. NTA/RIMC can withdraw permission if a candidate is subsequently found ineligible.

30. Does passing RIMCEE guarantee admission?

No. Admission depends on eligibility, merit, Viva Voce, medical fitness, vacancy, and verification of original documents, among other criteria.

D. Examination Fees

31. What is the application fee for General category candidates?

The application fee is ₹1,000.

32. What is the application fee for wards of Defence personnel?

The application fee is ₹1,000.

33. What is the application fee for wards of Ex-servicemen?

The application fee is ₹1,000.

34. What is the application fee for OBC-NCL candidates?

The application fee is ₹1,000, subject to the applicable OBC-NCL requirements.

35. What is the application fee for SC/ST candidates?

The application fee is ₹750.

36. How much is the late fee?

The late fee is ₹500.

37. Is the examination fee refundable?

Generally, successfully remitted examination fees are not refundable. Duplicate or multiple payments arising from the same application may be refunded after reconciliation.

38. If money is deducted from the bank account, does that mean the payment is successful?

No. Successful payment should be supported by fee payment confirmation and generation of the Confirmation Page.

39. Is there an annual fee after admission to RIMC?

Yes. The bulletin states an annual fee of ₹1,48,650 for General candidates and ₹1,31,850 for SC/ST candidates. The fee structure may be revised periodically.

40. Are RIMC fees subsidized?

Yes. The bulletin states that RIMC fees are heavily subsidized by the Central Government.

E. Reservation & Merit

41. Is admission to RIMC based on reservation?

48. Can every candidate in a State OBC list select OBC-NCL?

No. The candidate's caste/community must be included in the Central List of OBC. If it is not included in the Central List, the candidate should not select OBC-NCL.

49. Is merit important for final selection?

Yes. Final selection depends on factors including Written Examination performance, Viva Voce, medical fitness, eligibility, document verification, and available vacancies.

50. Does qualifying in the Written Examination guarantee a seat?

No. Candidates must proceed through the subsequent selection stages.

64. Is the English paper objective or descriptive?

The English paper is Descriptive and Pen & Paper Based.

66. Is the General Knowledge paper objective?

Yes. General Knowledge is an Objective Type (MCQ) paper.

67. Is there negative marking?

No. There is no negative marking in RIMCEE-2026.

68. What is the minimum qualifying percentage in each subject?

Candidates must obtain 50% of the total marks in each subject as the minimum qualifying requirement.

69. What is the medium of the English paper?

The English Language questions are given in English.

70. What is the medium of Mathematics and General Knowledge?

100. How can the entire RIMCEE-2026 selection process be remembered?

Apply → Written Examination → Viva Voce → Medical Examination → Final Merit → Admission

Only candidates who qualify in the Written Examination proceed to the Viva Voce. Candidates who qualify in the Written Examination and Viva Voce and are included in the medical call-up list undergo medical examination. Medically fit candidates are then considered for selection and admission based on merit and vacancy.
